one of my benefactors, i'm pretty sure was named ethan, as he said something like "hold on" to my help. never got the other guys name.

a list of people you could at least be sure would not shoot you in the face, if not give you some beans, would be a nice thing to have. It would be hard to verify such a list. I guess some of the teams, like the reddit ones could be survivors you could actually trust, without being desperate.

yeah i knew it was loud but it was all i had and I ran out of pistol ammo, i alerted a zed way off on the east coast.. i ran for what i thought was forever with him on my tail, way off in the woods and turned around and shot him. It was a good 30 seconds of feeling safe, when suddenly the hoards came. I swear every zed from that town came way up in the woods after me.

I havent tried your life of crime as yet. Actually I normally curse the likes of you and cheer at your death and killing bandits can be very profitable, especially for a new spawn. My very best game started with a bandits death.

However, at times, I can see how it can liberate you. An entire major obstacle in the game, is no longer an issue for you and that is one of trust.

We call out friendly and hope they arent lying. WE see lights or hear shots and wonder if friend or foe. You get to dispense with all that, everyone is a foe and not just one to avoid, but one to hunt and kill. There are many times, often after sitting there waiting for the server to respond due to some asshole like you, that I can see the appeal in you life style. Which is kinda ironic, that I would admire your lifestyle while cursing your name.

I give you one.. was headed towards cherno at night. I thought I was being careful but I upset some zeds and they tore me up pretty good. Managed to make it to the roof of a warehouse. bandaged myself up, ate the last of my beans..and suddenly bam.. someone shot me with a sniper rifle and i passed out.(god i hate bandits..well all survivors.. well most of them) I thought I was dead. I finally came to with blurry vision, just in time to sorta see the silhouette of my attacker, come to loot my dead body. I let off a few rounds from my pistol, i dont think i hit him at all but he high tailed it out of there just the same. Little did he know I had no more ammo and couldnt barely see him at all. I threw a couple flares after him, hoping he wouldnt like the light and wouldnt come back. SO now I am blur visioned and broken bones shaky vision and contemplating suicide but the servers were acting up sooo.. screw that, it took me over an hr to get on. And You know how it is at night time, well it really sucks when you have 3000 blood and the pain shakes from broken bones so it was still a hard choice to not kill myself. but he HAD cleared my zed for me, so that was enough for me to try.

I decided to go on, I know cherno has a hospital, I can at least get meds and hopefully find food and I'm not that far now.. but I am blind and pass out every so often so it is taking ages, so I am wavering on suicide constantly. And there are silhouette zed everywhere. It is really scary when blind at night, surrounded. I nearly make it to the Hotel when I round a building right into a crawler. I turn around and high tailed it to the church, I stumble switching to sprint and I take a couple hits before i get there and now I am bleeding again ..crap no bandages..and 3 or 4 zed on my tail, it wont be long now. I manage to climb to the top of the church, pass out and wake and I see across the way someone threw a chem stick in one of the empty buildings. I normally avoid people at all costs but this time I am desperate. I try scream out that I am almost dead on top of the church and pass out again. It is very annoying as suddenly you can't chat. I wake up and type "help cherno church" and pass out again. I wake up to hearing a chaos of bullets and zed down below, it sounds like the Apocalypse down there.

next thing i see is a blurry figure coming at me. and then another. followed by a 3rd and forth. The first two whip around and shoot the other two. My new benefactors bandaged me up and gave me some blood and a couple ammo clips. I LIVE!!! My vision clears up after a moment and I see the two dead zed that had followed them up the pipe. One of the guys is standing guard while the other is giving me ammo clips. Another minute, or less and I would have bleed dry, i was under 600 blood when i saw it last.. They made sure I was ok and then went back off hunting zed. Wouldnt even take any of my supplies for reward. Had a map, watch, compass, some cokes and i think a fencing kit.

It was one of the only nice experiences with survivors, that i have had in the game and they really kicked ass. Felt like it was right out of the movies.

TL;Dr survived the hoards, a bandit, nearly being dead twice, second time was saved at the last moment by kind strangers.

yeah i only pay attention to chat as i watched videos of other people playing dayz and they were always concerned... but i always find myself ignoring it.

the only thing yelling friendly does, is not shock some actually friendlys as you walk up on them. Its benefit is debatable.

Friendlies and non friendlies, both answer in the positive. And just because someone says they are friendly dont let your guard down. Best to hook up with folks you know outside of the game and treat everyone inside as liars.

hey I'm not saying people arent amazingly helpful sometimes. Man Some guys fought off 50 zeds just to give me some blood. But the awesome survivors are few inbetween a bunch of jerks.

that is where you see how bad the gun is. I'm sure many people have done this.. decided to snipe zeds from the tree line. Then you can really see ones ridiculously far away react to it. It is much funnier when it isnt me. It is actually worse to have the cz than to have no gun at all, due to teh swarming.

well to be fair to the times, their fail was pretty damn epic.

and the writing might be sophomoric, but I suspect they know their reader base.

I dont know. It seems to me like the insane movement is a benefit to the game. it makes it harder even on players experienced with 3d shooters. It also keeps it from being trivial to take out a hoard.

And really if they didnt do the insane movements, it would be easy to get them in a line when you run up a hill and then just pick them all off. harder to do with the weird moving.

plus the movements makes ammo a bit more critical as well as taking your shot. You can try to hit them from further away and lose bullets, or hit them close and lose blood.

For sure they annoy the crap out of me.. and I waste tons of ammo sometimes.. and maybe I will change my mind in the future. But right now I think the movement, helps the game..as without it they would need some better AI.

and then out of the blue shoot you in the back of the head and take your stuff.

dont trust anyone, once you have any items that you dont get with spawn.

edit: vote me down, I dont care, You will learn..,. maybe it wont take the 6th "friendly" shooting you in the head after walking with him for a hr killing zeds, like it took me. People are dicks. I have gotten killed by more "friendlies" than bandits Ok I guess it isnt a 'surprise", just a response to someone elses "surprise". It is hardly surprising people are dicks and will kill you when they get bored.

most annoying deaths are falling.

Dont go prone, look off a buildings edge and then stand up.(man I had a lot of stuff when I learned that lesson)

Dont stand on the edge of a building and throw a flare.(what is my guy an idiot? cant throw a flair while standing a foot from the edge without throwing himself off too?)

my most annoying death of all, was climbing a tower, get near the top floor and fall out the window onto the roof below... and another dead player who must have done the exact same thing....but I didnt die. I didnt have crap to fix myself up with but this dead guy was loaded with cool crap. I couldnt believe my luck. bandaged myself up, took morphine and pills until my legs worked again, stood up, turned and fell off the roof and died.

fav survivial: just spawned.. see a guy fighting a hoard. decide to help.. not the best of my ideas. Shot down all i could and ran out of bullets but we ended up getting them all, and then he starts to shoot at me, hits me once.. i have no bullets.. i managed to run into a building.. it looked like it was just cleared out.. but on the second floor, I found a clip for my gun and loaded it up and turned around at the exact second he rounded the corner and shot him in the face. He had a load of cool stuff too.

Stars have to put up with a lot of crap, and frankly, for the most part, I dont care. It is part of the job. Every job has negatives. But grabbing them and throwing shit on them is a bit to far.

I have a feeling as everything gets even more globalized and competition gets worse, that we will see more and more of the douche bag shock reporter. Trying to get a name for him self by being a douche.

and with money you can but anonymity, it is kinda retarded to be overly concerned with it. Sure in the beginning, it would be hard as you find you have friends and relatives that you never even heard of, but you can also fly places they cant get to. You can hang in exclusive resorts and clubs. Bah I say. Be happy with the 21 million, smile for the camera, and get the heck out of town.

actually one of tenets of libertarianism, is that markets cant be modeled. They dont believe in quantitative evidence when it comes to the economic sciences. Their entire belief system is based on gut feelings.

which leaves them a huge ace in their hand, because when ever one of their predictions fail, they can blame something else. People dont act rational. Or "The government still has taxes and regulations, and while those taxes and regulations might not have anything directly to do with my previous claims, they do make it so they dont work."

It is also why austrian economics is considered "non mainstream" and isnt really taught at any notable school, except to tell you what it is.

Like republicanism is proven to be "low effort thinking governing", economic libertarianism is low effort thinking economics. IT really is. Go ahead and downvote to hell paulites. IT wont make it less true.

They already added the exit tax in 2006 in the heroes act.

they knew the shit was going to hit the fan one day. Heck we all should have known it when Paul O'Neil said that the bush tax cuts would hurt the country and leave us in a position where we were need massive spending cuts and MASSIVE TAX INCREASES(he said 66% across the board tax hikes above the levels set in 2000), to offset the damage caused by the tax cuts.

you might remember it. It was when Cheney famously said "Paul, Reagan proved that deficits do not matter" and then they fired him.

And that is why we have a heroes act with an exit tax hidden in it.

And really, lets be honest, it is pretty shitty to grow up using this countries educational system, and roads, and educated employees, and courts, and the military that keeps everything peaceful while you work, only to become successful and then have so much greed that you decide to abandon this country due to taxes and most likely move to a country where you would NOT have the same opportunity growing up as you got for free from uncle sam.
