The interesting thing about the BEST data is that it shows a HUGE number of weather stations where there has been no warming. Fully one third of the weather stations checked did not show any warming in the data, and while they weren't "rural" vs. "urban" sites, they did seem to be regional. The southeastern part of the US, for example, has not warmed any at all.

I would LOVE for someone to do a comparison of the temperature rise of a region with the population rise in that region. If, for example, it can be shown that when a population doubles in size for a large region, and that the temperature of that region goes up by X percentage, but if a population only rises by half and the temperature of the region rises correspondingly, that would be good science.
